Sen. Lewis has filed the following bill to address civil rights issues:

  • An Act to establish a special commission to consider an appropriate tribute to Nelson Mandela in the City of Boston: This bill establishes a special commission to consider the viability of locating a designed space or facility on the Esplanade, Madison Park High School and/or any other location in the City of Boston, commemorating the visit of Nelson Mandela to Boston in June of 1990 and the speeches given by him on the Esplanade and Madison Park High School at such time.
